Landscapes

My landscapes are painted in acrylics and inspired by places I've visited on my travels. In particular I was fascinated by the atmospheres and moods created by colour, lighting and form. Paintings are 75cm x 100cm or larger.
“View from Suvay - The French Alps have been our home for 8 years and it is a place close to our heart and full of cherished memories. We asked Sarah to paint a landscape of the view from our home and to capture the essence of the mountains that we live in so that no matter where we move to in the future a simple glance at this painting will bring all of our memories flooding back. We think, along with all of our friends who live locally, that she has done this simply and beautifully. Thank you so much, Stuart (Chalet Construction)”

Textiles

I have produced woven and printed fabrics for the interior and fashion. The designs have been inspired by English porcelain, urban textures, patterns and surfaces, metals, plastics and lighting. I combine and juxtapose contrasting elements to create unusual and surprising results.  Applications include hats, bags, cushions, upholstery, curtains and wall hangings.

“The Golden Touch – Dazzling woven fabric shimmer and gleam like modern day treasures...Sarah manipulates and fuses print and weaving techniques to produce contemporary textiles with robust glamour...Her fabrics are couture-like in their rich elegance and she allows their individual natures to dictate a finished product.” (International Textiles – Innovations Issue No 768)

Woven Fibre Optics

The woven fibre optics fabric was invented in the late 1990s by myself and a business partner. The fabric has been featured in The Sunday Times "Style" magazine, "Metropolis" and Tank magazines. It was used in Kylie Minogue's "Spinning Around" video and for installations for Clothes Show Live and the Millenium Dome
